Sea Biscuit

Was the flesh of Sea Biscuit

made into briscuit

Have you seen

a terrified horse

hang upside down

in a slaughterhouse

Such a place is called

a slaughterhorse

other horses die

in stable fires

or of broken hearts.. transferred

and sold to dozens of homes

.. or are shot after their

forelegs hang by a thread

.. broken at a raceway

Author's Notes/Comments:

The news told us this
week that 1 billion
eggs are sold during
Holy Week, and a half
billion a week at other
times..
32 hours of confinement
for each chicken's stolen
egg equals 832 billion
hours of chicken's jail a year
in the US

Art Margolis:
each egg is 32 hours of chicken confinement,

as they are kept debeaked, 6 to a 3 ft by 1 ft. cage,
in constant light, with the constant smell of their excrement.

Each egg is 120 gallons of production water and 300 mg of
artering clogging, heart attack causing, stroke generating
cholesterol.

The practice of purchasing baby chicks for children
has resulted in smashing, suffocation of the birds
as well as in their being taken to pounds and zoos. In the
latter instance, some have been fed to carnivores.
