They chose the Dove

with her olive branched beak,

hope made tangible,

rather than the eagle's arrow-

holding claws,

the mistletoe

of love

over the

laurel leaves of

limelight,

the

apple seeds of

free food,

the pine cones of

beauty

the acorns of

reforesting oaks

over the asphalt

of the control

of Mother Earth.
