The little girl flunked as a flower girl. She could not throw the petals down
to be crushed under people's feet Her parents took their children to see
a silkworm factory, where the silkworms were boiled alive to make it easier to separate them from their silken cocoons. When she was six she was asked to
weed a garden across the street, it would be with 1 exception the last time she ever pulled up a living plant. She was asked to kill the Japanese beetles
in the rose garden at age 12.. and crushed 3 before she said she could not
do it anymore and never did.
