A Lonely Lion

Once, there was a mighty lion. He was the king of every living thing; no matter if it swam in the ocean, soared over mountains, or felt soil under his paws, the lion ruled them all. He had been an amazing king for thousands of years and everyone had come to love him. Homes for every kind of animal existed: areas full of luscious trees, majestic tundras, unending desert dunes, and colorful coral reefs. But one day, the lion did not seem to be satisfied with his daily meal. Sensing that the lion was troubled, the elephant went to his aid. Before the elephant could say anything, the lion ate him in one large bite. But still, the lion felt unsatisfied. Sensing this, the giraffe came to his aid. Again, the lion engulfed the giraffe before it could even speak. Even after witnessing these terrifying events, his loyal subjects continued to go to his aid. One after the other, they lined up knowing that they would most likely be eaten. The bears climbed down the mountains for him, the fish swam out the water for him, and the birds stopped enjoying the wind on their feathers for him. And still the lion did not have enough. He unsuccessfully roamed the earth trying to find more things to eat but the only thing he found was sadness and loneliness. As the days passed by, the lion kept looking for something to be fully satisfied, but as he ate everything that walked, talked or made a single breath, he didnt realized how much impact he was making in the world he had once loved and cared so much about. The homes for every living thing were slowly starting to change into shelters, the tundras change from majestic to lonely, the deserts from unending to dry and lackless of life, the colorful coral reefs changed to freezing and black waters. But the King couldn't notice, everyone who tried to persuade him to stop, would be eaten or left alone to die. One day, as the world was almost empty, no life could be found.The kings right hand, the turtle, was the only one left alive. Turtle said to the King, “Haven’t you noticed yet? You have eaten all of your friends, servants, advisors, enemies, you have killed every living thing in the whole while world seeking to be satisfied? I think you were looking for something else, and that is happiness and love.
