after the rain comes sun

I’m closing shop tonight

I’m turning off the light

On this poorly built structure of ours

There are spider webs in every corner

And dust on all the surfaces

I haven’t seen a smile for days

It’s about time to leave this place

If you’re letting go why should I stick around

I promise not to think about our past too much

Only if you promise to stay miserable without me

This is the saddest my heart has have felt

But I know after the rain comes sun

It may rain for years

But eventually that sun will shine

Once it does your face won’t be anywhere to be seen

And that’s exactly how I’ll want it to be
