We are good on Wednesdays

Never Tuesdays

Like love is found in conversations and we are found in flirtation

We’re best on Thursdays

When we forget who we are

And become who we bring out in each other

When I make you brave

Pull you from the shell of a coward you’ve become and encourage you to laugh at life and embrace the stage

When you make me vulnerable

Break down the walls built up by painful experiences and remind me to embrace the child inside and play

When we try

Take advantage of the time life gives us and walk till we are too cold

Warm up to drinks and friendship in the avoided eye contact of two people who want nothing more than to kiss unsure if there are lips waiting on the other end

We are best on Thursdays

Frightened on Fridays

When life is busy

When we don’t reply to texts right away and we wonder if the other feels the same

When I’m out of town and you out with friends

Silly on Saturdays

Laughing ourselves in and out of clothing

And love

Soul mates on Sundays

Mislead by Mondays only to be torn apart by Tuesday

But at least…

We were good on Wednesdays
