The Right Wrong People

What they took from me is what they've given,

Parables to rival the ones I've read.
I dusted off and got back to livin',
The lessons they taught me stuck in my head.
There were times I never thought I'd break through
The damage they wrought, the grief and sorrow,
But the day dawned when my senses came to
And I again welcomed each tomorrow.
I must say, what a motley crew they are,
A most enigmatic menagerie.
I keep them removed, but never too far
Lest I lose sight of what they've meant to me.
After this time it must be conceded
They were the right wrong people I needed.
