Beauty

Does beauty mean the end of the world?

Without it would our world be truly swirled?

“Don’t talk to him, he is butt ugly”

The voices are heard from people so smugly,

Enduring their overwhelming fame,

Of, basically, being completely vain.

For isn’t beauty only skin deep?

Shouldn’t people be judged by being a creep?

Arrogance is the most annoying sin,

But yet it is found and in everyone and thing.

Vanity runs through everyone’s blood,

The tap keeps running, our body is a flood,

Whether we know it or not, we have all been shallow,

We can’t stop it it’s human, we all suffer from being callow.

Next time you judge somebody by their cover,

Take one moment in time to discover,

Just who the person is, and you soon might learn,

That you’ve gained a friend for life, and in turn,

You may one day be in the position where,

People laugh at you and stare,

Then you will understand what I can see,

And Just how shallow people can be.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I made this poem after noticing how vain and materialistic the world is now.
