Strange Talk (version 1)

Concerned and curious
Wondering what word this is
You speak luxurious
My mind runs furious

It's so strange to talk to you this way
With nothing but electrical signals between
Email, text, and PM chats
Real words spoken, these conversations lack

It's just gibberish, emoted gifs
Letters in space typed upon this page
At least I can't say I forgot what you said
With all our talk technically transmitted

But something changed a moment ago
I heard a sound, but what it was I don't know
It came from your lips, but I don't know what it meant
But it was strange talk, because it was said
It's bad that today we've become disillusioned
It's a terrible thing that we live in confusion
So easy, it always is, to hide in seclusion
Because it's strange talk, to speak in collusion

It was so strange to talk with you today
And actually hear what you wanted to say
It's been so long since real words were spoken
I'd almost believe our vocal chords had been broken
So it was strange, to talk in strange talk.

This.

"It's been so long since real words were spoken

I'd almost believe our vocal chords had been broken"

This makes this poem, and I prefer this version over the other.

I felt the second was unfinished,

but I really loved this one,

the one that was originally strung,

this one.

Well done. (^^)

I figured

With the current state of societal affairs in this world, that the strangest talk was actual conversation. I heard they did a study that discovered the brains of today's you have been rewired by their access to technology. As I always say, the smarter the phones, computers, and cars get, the dumber their operators become. And you only have to spend about 12 seconds on highway 40 to realize that truth. :/
