A Beauty To You and Me

A Beauty to you and me

quite a disaster askew,

a handsomest beast you ever did see

for he was without, any glee.

About the forest at night

Oh, what a fright ,

did he receive.

But boy, was he deceived

She came up behind,

looking to find

the next victim in time,

for her unfair little crime

Lure him away

where there is no day

only darkness can prevail,

in her own private jail.

She'd torture his soul,

caged him in a hole.

No sunlight

to survive was always a fight

Can he make her happy

make her go all sappy;

make her smile,

and her eyes water, like the Nile.

Will he release her,

save her?

Set her free,

make her never want to flee?

Can he help her to free the princess inside?

Make her abide to the love,

deep inside her heart,

and in the end, never let them part.

Author's Notes/Comments:

The point of this poem was to take a classic fairy tale and flip it around and change the characters character.
