I Stand in Front of You

Slowly I'm drowning

in my unshed tears.

Tears of pain,

anger, fear,

and, most of all

tears of anguish

I'm chocking on frustration

as it curls like smoke,

smoke from a fire

being fanned within my lungs

blocking oxygen,

stopping breath.

I'm falling,

endlessly falling

into the oblivion of promises.

Promises made by you

                     to me.

Unfulfilled promises

            made by you.

I'm dying,

       (slowly,ever so slowly)

in my dreams

the dreams that are plagued,

plagued by you;

your cursing words

I am gone;

         disappeared;

                   vanished;

are you looking

looking high,

looking low,

looking left,

looking right,

      looking for what?

AIR?

        I am no more. even when I stand in front of you.
