The Little Boy

You’re this little boy who cried himself to sleep, without an ounce to spare

You’re that boy who smiled, even when no one else cared

You’re the same boy who felt a disgrace in this human race

You’re that little boy who shared emotions upon a strong face

You’re that little boy who swept away the tears of a broken clown

You’re the same boy who switched the expressions of an open frown

Even though this child’s expressions changed as life drove him on

This boy still kept within himself, even though his heart was torn

But within your spirit, you still have that child within you

It’s still that little boy who screams! For trust, commitment

Even when that golden child becomes you

You’re the same boy who gave life to an innocent man

You’re that boy who wishes to grow up with responsibility

Of one day taking care of his own

But inside, there’s nothing but sad, stormy days

Of one day finding that happy home

And who would have guessed that this little boy grew stronger with each breath

Of one day finalising this journey of happiness, emotion, but lets not forget, death

This poem was based on a true story, of a strong willed young soldier

This poem was about me, the knight in shining armour
