Crucible

Your blood no longer flows through my veins,

It has long since been taken from me.

It's been taken and used,

Becoming ink and tears splattered upon

Black canvases left there for years

Sinking down in time's weave.

Wasting away the damage is done,

It will not wash out.

There's a difference in me now,

A difference in me.

There's a difference in me now,

A difference in me.

There's a difference in me now,

A difference in me.

There's a difference in me now,

A difference in me.

My flesh is now of earth,

My spirit darker than the city sky.

My will is fire, my watered blood

Sweeps the sleepers down the banks of the river shore,

Past the willows which reach out,

Tangling their limbs together,

Waiting breathlessly,

Waiting for the end of forever.

There's a difference in me now,

A difference in me.

There's a difference in me now,

A difference in me.

There's a difference in me now,

A difference me.

There's a difference me now,

A difference in me.

And I will not be broken again.

I will not partake of your poison.

I will never call you my friend.

And I don't have to give you a single reason.

But here's one.

There's a difference in me now,

A difference in me.

There's a difference in me now,

A difference in me.

There's a difference in me now,

A difference in me.

There's a difference in me now,

A difference in me.

Author's Notes/Comments:

A reworking of The Crucible that I wrote awhile ago. One of the songs my band plays now.

Ah Ha!

And what is the name of your band? When you are famous, I can say I knew her during her pp days. - That has got to be fun, writing music, lyrics, and then performing your creation - enjoyed - Lady A
