Perfect, Imperfect

You say you see beauty.

To my eyes, her stunning visage is

A cover for the raging medusa beneath.

You say he is holy.

I see nothing but illusions,

A sham created to prey on your senses.

You say it is perfection.

I see no signs it has ever known

Stress, has no breaking point yet.

I see a confident woman.

You say she is ugly,

Trying to break her with your words.

I say he is a good man.

You scoff, believing that he

Must be hiding something.

I mention it has imperfections.

You see the flaws,

Nothing more than weakness.

We are not so dissimiliar.

Our only difference:

The way we percieve the world.

Both of us are right, of course.

Are we not both stubborn?
