Outside, the raindrops fall on the leaves

Rivulets forming patterns on my windowpane.

The night wind whispers through the trees,

Enhancing the symphony of the rain.



As a watery moon floats slowly by

On a raft of silver-coated clouds

Thoughts of you evoke a sigh...

Dreams I dare not speak aloud.



Restlessness stirs within my breast,

A relentless, endless, aching need.

A seething fire by love possessed.

Missing you so much, I can hardly breathe.

Sometimes the pain of missing a lover you will not see again is crippling and all-consuming ... been there, done that. I think this piece describes this feeling neatly.
