A Moment Please...

If it weren't for a glance
with my peripheral vision,
I might have missed the
glowing gift of her beauty
in its most divine state.

It froze me in place. I
mean, for real.  No
pretense whatsoever in
those brown eyes or her
most intensely alarming
smile.

And the sheer beauty of
her immensely warm and
inviting soul surrounded
me like Saturn's ring.

And not unlike that oddly
fascinating celestial body,
and its most captivating
feature, her soul is so much
more than it appears.

I breathe her essence in
as if it were the first cool
breeze of early morning
mountain air.  I am so
taken with her that I can
do nothing but drink of
her voraciously.

However, I am already
aware that this will not
be enough to sate my
desire for this love I so
crave it vexes me deeply.

So, in my heart's vault I
take the love I have there
and cover myself in it just
so she knows what great
intent she has sparked.

It is as I approach her, so
cautiously, that I see her
eyes...so wise...so kind,
have in them the reflected
love I have offered so humbly.

Now, as if waiting for this exact
moment to reveal itself fully,
her eyes and that smile are
focused on me directly.

I am made dumb to speech as
she walks up to me with the type
of confident kineticism that is
reserved for a lover known to a
kindred heart.

To my great amazement, she
speaks but one word.  But, it is a
word whose content is held in its
promise of a most beautiful portent.

She simply said...

                   "Hello".

And now...

               I am smiling.
