poetry within me

words may rhyme

      yet

there may be a time

where prose is where it's at

punctuation and capitalization

is realization

the door to my heart opens

       and

words pour out

my mind get's so cluttered

that's what it's all about

forgive my lack of formal remembrance

where rules are set in stone

i never was much on rules

and that some how leaves me

       all alone

critique me please and guide me

to where my true words come to

        say

awaken my heart, soul and mind

only then i can begin to play.

This is sweet and simple, and of course, I agree with everything you say. We have a wonderful, terrible, powerful gift when we have poetry within.

Rules were made to be broken. The poetic soul should have no boundaries. I like your style. Regards, Mary

A subject most of us "poets" write about...this is well written and most expressive. Nice work. Deborah
