Into the Abyss

Folder:
2017
I was not asking
for a torrential downpour
For the desires of so many days past
I looked only for a flicker
in the shape of your body
a twinkle in the eye of your smile
As you lie so restlessly against me
I asked only for a touch
a whisper for help
just a fraction of a proclamation
I longed for a soft moment
a graze of comfort
to quell the monster inside
Instead I found an emptiness
I recoiled from your vacancy
With a flat offer of more
More of me and less
less of you
I needed sensation
and I was left adrift
Your eyes darting from mine
I couldn't find compassion
away from the electric glow
'Love me' my soul cried to yours
'Later' you whispered into the abyss

Who were merged into one person. It was miraculous to behold. The rest of us can only hope. :D
