Are we Blind or Selfish?
We send money and food over seas
to care for the hungry and poor
yet somehow we forget those closet
our neighbors, friends and the homeless.
While the rich and famous dine
they pass by the homeless man
all he wants is what they want
warm and fulfilling meal.
The bells are ringing, money shared
the homeless are facing more hardships
families, vets, some grandparents
a choice between meds or food.
The homeless didn't choose this life
things went wrong and jobs lost
so think twice, maybe you can help
a canned good, a loaf of bread; anything.
