Jamyla

Jamyla

As I turn on the television, I get hit like a ton of bricks.
Another child murdered by heartless, criminal pricks.
A beautiful girl in her home just being a good little child,...
When suddenly shooting starts and bullets they fly wild.
This baby was doing homework when hit with the fatal shot,
All because of an evil person with murder set as the plot.
Why, why, why, I ask Lord, why this precious being?
Now the animals who killed her are on the run and fleeing.
The evil of this world is sadly triumphant once more.
We must come together in unison for the fight against this war.
The fight to end violence, to stand and say no more!
Our children are our future, our children are our core.
Jamyla is now with God and feeling no more pain.
Please everybody, don’t let her death be in vain.

RIP BABY GIRL

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is a poem I wrote in the memory of Jamyla Bolden, who was shot and killed during a drive by shooting while sitting in her Ferguson, Missouri home doing homework. RIP pretty girl

Good write

Tellin it like it is .

I've been livin' in the ( city)

And I don't like it.

But I could be livin in a ( badder) city.

Hope is but a dream

Of wishful thinking

Between the seams.

Seeming like a dream.

Peace out

A Wish of Safety

to all who walk the earth. Everywhere is now a dangerous place. A fine tribute and call to open eyes. ~allets~
