* Delusions *

                 creeping down the road

                  sound of summer bee

                i carry my load expect

                ing you to be: my father

                and my lover my freind

               and my brother but clouds

                cover the shadow which

               shudder.these cold lonely

               winds of waiting and hope

                are freezing my wings

                and pulling my rope

                sleeping in some bar

               it hurts me to see that

                 you never are what

                 i want you to be  .

This poem spoke to me. So many times we love a person for the potential we see in them, not realizing that if they have no desire to reach that potential then what we see is only an illusion. There was so much truth in your last two lines;
"you never are what
i want you to be"
Very thought provoking poem!
