My fantasies couldn’t perfect it
When unveiled, I’m torn apart
My heart goes unprotected
Lusted after you in my mind
For so long, this thing I wanted
But those fantasies are far behind
Since you first started to flaunt it
Confusion overwhelms me
This surreal imagery of you
Is painted inside of my memory
I can’t escape the view
Capturing my eye
But only for a glance
I crave to draw you nigh
In this esoteric trance
But it is too contrived
Unnaturally correct
We would never survive
What we couldn’t forget
Perfection in my mind
Was not this precise
Now I’ll leave it far behind
And shall not be enticed
