Flying American Pride

Flying American Pride

Karyn Indursky

Shall I fly our American flag high
to flutter in the breezes of butterflies
drifting on clouds of imaginations
waiting to salute our troops?

Shall I fly our American flag high
to thank our soldiers for
being us freedom to devour
our Thanksgiving feast?

Shall I fly our American flag high
to show our national pride
and how proud we are to be
living in the USA?

Shall I fly our American flag high
to show the beauty of a nation
blessed by God?

Shall I fly our American flag high
from now until eternity
to thank those who care enough
to fight for what they believe it?

Shall I fly our American flag high
to unite our communities
in celebrations of not only what
we have today, but in our future?

i like this write as u might

i like this write as u might see from my poems i write with a dark vibe

but i love the prive of my country the things it represents  and its flag

and i think some times we need to remind the people just how

importent these things are.. also i wanted to be the first to comment on this

thanks

thanks k.d. i did notice your dark vibe. i like my happy endings and trying to see what we should be thankful for, blessed with, and grateful for. not all of my poetry is "light hearted". I do have some darker pieces, but they're in the minority and i'd like to keep it that way.
