Sequined Clouds

Sequined Clouds

Karyn Indursky

I want to be an animal
Where color isn't an issue.

I want to be an insect
Where everyone's in harmony.

I want to be an object
Where race, nationality, and culture aren't an issue.

I want to be a law
Where I promote equality.

I want to be a pen
Where I help people express freedom.

I want to be parchment
Where someone's imagination can decorate me.

I want to be canvas
Where expressions of art make people smile together.

I want to be a joke
Where everyone's laughter erases diversity and segregation.

I want to be an exquisite flower
Where I am a part of globalized beauty.

I want to be medicine
Where I heal the sick.

I want to be a quilt
Where I am patched together to share warmth.

I want to be a miracle
Where I can remind people to embrace religion.

I want to be knowledge
Where, when applied, I turn into wisdom.

I want to be the future
Where all of us are sequined clouds.
