I Want



I am so tired of never getting what I want.

I don’t think it is too much to ask for.

I just want to be loved.

I just want to have someone to hold me and tell me everything is going to be all right.

I want to have someone there to wipe my tears away.

I want someone who doesn’t have to kiss me with his lips because he has all ready kissed me with his eyes.

I just want to feel loved.

I want to feel needed.

I want to feel appreciated.

I want to feel like I finally belong; not just to belong with everyone but to belong to him.

I want to belong to the man of my dreams.

I want to belong to the man I’ll marry.

I want to belong to the man that will love me unconditionally.

Most of all, I want to belong to LOVE.

This is a lovely and touching poem, Laura. I like most of your words in it, and also the repetition of " I want," because for me, it made the poem sentimental, which I really like.

Again, keep up the good work and take care.
