Love Gone Bye



Do you need me like I need you?

Do you think of me as I think of you?

Do you whisper my name late at night

when you're at home,

Lying awake when you're all alone?



Is my picture on your dresser

As yours is mine?

Do your memories of us bring tears

As mine do from time to time?

Are your dreams haunted by nightmares

As mine are of a love gone bye?

Do you find yourself like me

Singing sad songs to cry?



They say a heart will mend

And maybe that's so

But my love will never end

That much I know.

I still come home and wish you were here,

And when I pull back the covers

I want so much for you to be there,

To hold me near.



Do you still want me like I want you?

Do you still love me as I love you?

Do you ever find yourself wishing

It were me on the other end of the phone?

Do you ever cry out my name

After the lights are out and you're all alone?

I do yours,

And that's for sure.
