Well, what does it feel like

to be pulled so strongly

in two different directions at the same time

to be influenced deeply

by opposite sides of the spectrum at the same time

do they cancel each other out

or are they tearing you apart



When someone says, 'Wake up baby, this is the real world'

and that's someone you once trusted and wanted to get to know

you try to make up excuses for him to act the way he did

but he's not lookin' for excuses and he meant what he said

and that's what really hurts



Thought he was good when he was bad, my intuition failed me

I didn't know him at all, the things I saw in him were fantasy

cuz they were never there at all

Why should I care what happens to him, God, I must really be dumb

but I can't help the way I'm feeling, it's uncomfortably numb
