Supper Time and Grace

There may be no reason or rhyme

I miss the gatherings at supper time

We all sat at the table

when we were able

to share our day

come what may

we said grace

no one made a face

We were grateful and meant it

That time is over- we spent it

Supper time and grace

seem so out of place

I don't know why

I would like to try

to have it again

a long lost friend

supper time and grace

needs a time and a place

Author's Notes/Comments:

remembering childhood days and actually saying grace before a meal...and what it means...or meant...heart sent...

I wish my family was that close. We come and go as we please, it's sad and I don't have a good relationship with any of them and this is the hardest time of my life. Man, I know what you mean and how you feel. I'm sorry Pam, it must be hard to deal with. Hugs, thoughts, prayers, love,
