MELTING CLOCKS

I'VE ALWAYS LOVED THOSE MELTING CLOCKS

PAINTED BY SALVADOR DALI

THE TITLE OF THEM SURELY MOCK

THE PERSISTENCE OF MY MEMORY

I ALWAYS HAVE TO GOOGLE THEIR NAME

IT ALWAYS MAKES ME FEEL ASHAMED

IRONIC IT'S SO HARD FOR ME

TO REMEMBER THE PERSISTENCE OF MEMORY

Challenge: Day 21

For the 2021 November PAD Chapbook Challenge, poets are tasked with writing a poem a day in the month of November before assembling a chapbook manuscript in the month of December. Today's prompt is to write an ekprhastic poem.

For today's prompt, write an ekphrastic poem. That is, write a poem based on a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other piece of visual art. Write a poem inspired by a Frida Kahlo painting or Man Ray photograph or go with something more contemporary (or classical). Be sure to cite the piece of art that inspired your poem.
