Afraid to get too close I push you away
when what I want the most is just for you to stay
Afraid to need you more than words can ever say
when your time on earth is up you'd seem so far away
And I just can't live with that so I push you away
It is just too hard to be the one that's left behind
It really devastates me It really blows my mind
When I think of wasted time keeping you at bay
You were never really mine yet I'm in dismay
I know that I think too much
Often feel out of touch
You mean so much but I don't show it
and so I have become a poet
