a veritable dancing darkness
you are
trundling about
on this faintly foreign ground
from this advantage point
in strangers it seems
you seek shards of the self
lost margins perhaps
faintly limping to get away
you wonder through life
always seeking
but with an outstretched
altered hand
running towards a sun that
will never set
not in your life
how tired you must be
fighting as you do
'The Persistence Of Remembering'
must make you so terribly weary
I enjoyed the bouquet of
your patch scrabble letter
your vague blue and purple words
spoke to me like proud African violets
stubbornly coming of age
with so much inner turmoil you till
so humbly deeper
still in your soil
and in your meandering hum drum weaving
you rise like the mercury and greet me
with a warmth I can never forget
so thank you for your letter
you could never talk too much to me
I'm your friend
and for me your hodge podge sentences
are gems to be held closely and
extravagantly enjoyed................

Author's Notes/Comments: 

I wrote this in reply to a beautiful collage of an otherworldly letter sent to me after such a long time from my dear friend and fellow poet Fahad A.K.A. human pulse here on post poems.The letter was glorious in its content, texture, subtext and laconic inspiration. The feeling is nearly indescribable when a friend from so long ago in one's past suddenly reaches out to make contact with you after so much time has elapsed. This poem came to me after my third read through of his letter so like a cram packed full suitcase of life's unexpected assumptions spilling out of his mind and onto the page to me, I felt a poem in me yet tethered but eager to reply and so I read again through his letter twice more and then allowed my hand free reign to share his beautiful uniqueness with the rest of you here. Thank you my dear friend Fahad for being who you are to me and spilling yourself from your letters and poems onto the ground at the feet of the world like you do. You are beautifully selfless in your frank poetic demeanor and I will likely die ever a fan of your haunting wordage...............

I've known you poetically longer than anyone else on this site. We go a long way back my friend and your influence on my writing has been profound. Your poems and letters always inspire some creativity in me. It is as if you speak to me at that level and I am easily able to reply back to you. We are at this level in writing 'simpatico' I do feel a poem will form in me from this genteel, warm reply of yours. Thank you for being my friend.............
