to 'Escape In Sound'
from their humble circumstance
they rose
one determined man
leading them like
a dusty sainted piper
from such ground down poverty
their beautiful voices
and carefully fostered talents
were honed
though so few audiences
can they muster
but with the grit of hope
and the forbearance of determination
they rose to the world stage
via the medium of television
the beautifully souled
and the unquestionably deserving
of such admirable recognition
tears streamed down my cheeks
as I listened to their glorious symphony
of 200 plus souls speaking the language
of great music in one angelic voice
amid the glorious swelling waves of
orchestrated crescendo
written more than a century ago
starting with Beethoven's 9nth symphony .............

Author's Notes/Comments:

I watched a program on 60 minutes not long ago about an unlikely symphony formed by a man in the Congo called, The Kimbanquist Symphony Orchestra and it moved me to see the joy and hear the hope that can be scraped up from the ground of next to nothing to be shared with the rest of the jaded world. It was an enjoyment of spirit like one can't imagine until one hears this miracle of music for themselves.
