INVISIBLE SLAUGHTER

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

the ravage burns in the eyes
death to the fringes of the soul
like fire on the fingertips of their
innocent cries
'Invisible Slaughter'
was their perpetrator's goal
supposed men of God's cloth
daily doing the devil's work
in naked shame
defiling children as it were
and spitting their trust
back out in their own face
gives new levels of low
to such despicable reign
lives so brutally altered
no peace on this earth
should their tormenters
get to taste
God ever ye bless
the sweetness
that is of the children
and bring your justice
down swift
upon those who assault
their pristine innocence
while wearing God's blessed
robes of purity at their waists
it breaks the heart
to hear such awful soulless truth
but the finest thing the church
can do to learn from such dark
and terrible sin
is never abandon the most
innocent of the Lord's flock
in lieu again
for failed officers of their own order
and or sect
so to protect their own status
with the community via
the repeated shielding
of such violently depraved
and unworthy men
devious pedophile predators
through and through
preying upon the most
undeserving
with their sick
and twisted sins.............

Author's Notes/Comments:

Was watching earlier this evening 60 Minutes on CBS and they did a story on the Arch Bishop of Dublin and his turning over some 60 plus thousand documents in the archives under his supervision which exposed the Catholic Church's massive cover up for many years that protected priests who sexually abused children. He spoke of one grown man who came to him and described in graphic details of his childhood rape beginning at the tender age of 8 years old. I was moved as the Arch Bishop spoke he told of later that week going to the opening of a new school and the guide asked him would you like to meet some of the children he asked if he could meet the 8 year olds and said when he saw them it made what that grown man had told him earlier that week all the more painful to realize. Just how innocent and little a child is at that age. He was truly devastated by what the church had done to protect Priests before it would protect its most innocent in its flock. His crying made me cry. His coming forward and handing over those documents changed the policies of the Catholic churches in Ireland. Now, no priest for any reason can be left alone with a child. There must always be a trusted reliable adult with the priest in the room with a child. No priest can visit with children out side of the church. I just hope the Catholic churches world wide adopt this process so no more children are allowed to be Invisibly Slaughtered like they have been for many years in the past as recently as up to 2009 the report said. Writing this poem helped me to shed some of the pain and disgust I personally felt after watching this report.

Powerful write

Yes it is a horrible shame what lengths the evil will go to to make believer denounce. But I still renounce. It is pertinent that we understand the cunning of evil and that it seeks positions of trust in order to abuse that trust and be covered by it! It is sickening and your write is very expressive of this soiling of the robes. It is not limited to religion, it happens on schools when they become teachers, swim instructors, coaches and many other positions that require trust. The age of the veil of innocence is lost forever as we can't be there for our children and must rely on strangers paid to help although terrible things happen there too. So must as soon as children speak for THIER own good defile their understanding of innocence with stern warnings of such horrible things. My what the world is coming to? Quite frightening. Thank you for taking the time to voice this issue and help present it so that more may see. Kind regards SS

Yes, I am fully aware of the other areas but.......

The News Item I saw was specifically on the Catholic church that is why I mostly focused on that area. I watch many news items on abuse in every walk of life and ways and means the govt and police use to enforce the laws and try to better insure the safety of the world's children. Such subjects as this are always important. Mostly,I wanted to wash the filth out of my heart on this subject. One gets tired of feeling so hopeless. I can't do much but I can write about a wrong and shed some light on it. As I was watching that piece i thought of something from the Bible. Evil is for good men to stand by and do nothing! Shockingly enough that is just what the church did. They did little or nothing. That just screamed of the ultimate hypocrisy to me. Anyway, thanks for reading and replying. Is always a pleasure to hear your input smooth............is much appreciated, Melissa.
