you know
it struck me as strange
you considering me
your 'Valvoline'
like I'm all the mechanic's rage
the lubricants for your engine
or more so
that hot slick substance
you crave
there is some mixed
metaphor here
but a better poet
than me
would have to unravel
such sage...........

Author's Notes/Comments: 

This poem just came to me out of next to nothing. Saw a Stone Temple Pilot's song on you tube titled Vaseline and I misread it at first thinking it said Valvoline and just like that this poem was ready to jump on the page, so I let it jump. The misread word Valvoline was the key. As you, my fellow poets now sometimes it can be as quick as that.
