UNBLIGHTED SKYLINE

'Unblighted Skyline'
dark imposing edifices
infused with light
beacons to the roving eye
joy to the inner calm
speaking to that balancing act
of light and darkness
converged
a reflection of a deeper
self
proof
that the light in man
even upon earth
can conquer the darkness
lessons playing out
in this fiction we live
dawning to the eye
that sparks grew too in
others more than a millennium
ago
to create this illusion
of the nightly fiction
alas conquered
that is the core tonight
of my eye's unharnessed joy........

Author's Notes/Comments: 

Recently took a brief trip to Charlotte in the early evening and passed by all those lovely well lip up skyscrapers so beautifully dotting the skyline and it just spoke to the light in my very own soul. My eyes were so enchanted I looked at them until they were a faint glimmer in the distance. The words unblighted skyline just kept dancing around behind my eye lids and I knew that was a key to a poem that would come. Enjoy..........

Another breautiful creation

Another breautiful creation here Melissa. Unblighted skyline reflects your wonder, and inner joy. I myself love watching well lit skyscrapers, but I haven't yet found the right words to illustrate the way I feel as I watch mesmerized, at the shadowy outlines of the light encrusted buildings, standing tall and proud, and alive against the dark skies. It is always a pleasure reading your poems. Thank you!
