FOR MARTIN'S OWN THEOLOGY

JOURNAL # 41

sandwiched
in subtle innuendo
I'd like to believe
we found our floor
an incredible sizzle
of alike spirits
sputtered to life
casting a net of
grace across
a situation
that prior
for you
has been
so sore
in your pain
as a friend
you unmasked
your heart for a night
and revealed
a hurt wounded man
I felt no pity for
thee
please never think so
I saw a shut off
avenue open up
so I drove it's
boulevards to and fro
a lovely blocked off
part of your city
you keep to yourself
buried
just flesh deep
my faith is on you
my dear friend
you will come through
this either way
a better human
for the fire of
heartache
you've had to endure
I was glad I could
be there
and console the man
who lost his way
but through some
of my kind words
and life traps
clothed as they
were in poetry
I had escaped in my
own past
you too were able to rise
above some of the
thickest fog of worry
a taller, stronger
gentle man
as I write this
I only realize this now
and so I had to
share it with you
as a way to say
good luck to you
my friend
no matter what
come what may
follow your path............

This was revealing

The way you penned this speaks that you are kindred souls with this friend... Amazing how talking makes one open up... Mutual experiences plus the closeness you have must have helped you penetrate his wall of reserve, hardened by years of nurture and hurt...
Milissa, your kind caring heart is priceless. It shows a lot here and all your poems...
I miss you...
