A BRISK WALK IN BELL BOTTOMS *

Folder:
JOURNAL # 40

summer sun
saturates sun blocked nose
so generously smoothed
glorious heat of the day
flirts with the salty air
hair dances over the eyes
as frothy foam meets
warm squishy sand
to cake on wide tattered
heels of my faded jeans
sunglasses hide
melancholy eyes
scanning the horizon
so dully serene
uproarious beach goers
behind me
populate and pollute stretches
of shore line for miles
lost in their own happy
forager's paradise
oblivious to this lone figure
making her way
parallel to the water's fluid edge
captivated by the tireless
beauty of her own preoccupied
thoughts
a man
a love
and the obstacle of distance
driving between them
as it is
a temporary wedge
sighing from the weight of
her heart's current burden
she exits such glorious public
playground
to head home
hoping
this little jaunt of hers
has somehow managed to clear her head.............
