MISERY AT THE OUTSET

Folder:
JOURNAL #35

with eyes full of near addictive merriment

and lips carved most affectionately into

an infectious smile

I put on a happy face of creativity

and work a little of that famed word  magic

into some sort of memorable style

is a lie told to one's self still a lie

and are doubts really doubts when laid

to the side

are there classifications for levels of hate

or does society deem them all

as ultra unnecessary

and alley their views to that of a blind fate

we live among structures that are like

mortuaries to love

so many ideals we aspire to

yet can hardly hope to achieve

but without ideals

then where would men and women be

lost to the hope that is dangled from the soul

driving little more than a negative force

that vibrates inward

to an all too predictable conclusion

'Misery At The Outset'

well, I for one

can not allow myself to recline

too far into that

as where there is even just the hope

for light

there darkness can not long prevail......................
