FODDER FOR THE MASOCHIST

Folder:
JOURNAL#16

Mr. Miller, where are your over wise words

for me tonight

have you come to sketch my short comings

Hark, where is your ever so solicitous yet

vicious bite

your angry finger taps out the staccato

rhythm of many a man's natural life

though just too trivial

it may seem to you

I myself tend to welcome such edgy respite

I have subscribed weekly now to your carefully

moderated though all too superior rapport

the common place injustices

found in our everyday society

when approached to be reproached by your

venomous verbal daggers

backs down at the threshold of your rapacious

humor's door

for the average man is too shamed afraid of

your well developed velvet rapier wit

for such a hopeful by stander

you see, you are just too damned quick

you testily fascinate one even as his

guarded self esteem you manipulate to floor

we take your cleverly knifed abuse so passively

yet turn around only to beg you for more

so, it seems the vanquished again welcomes the

veritable victor into his trodden upon heart

by way of roar

(the roar of laughter that is!)

we languish in and love your raw spin

on the over educated truth

which is reason enough I suppose to believe

why we allow you in our homes

every Friday night to soar............
