HIS HANDSOMENESS PERSONIFIED (Cary Grant)

Folder:
JOURNAL #33

intimate glimpse

an excellent banishing

of courage in the myth

an ordinary life

made to appear suave

built on the premise

of debonair actor/millionaire

another thrilling installment

of mystery

Hitchcock's dapper pro antagonist

silenced too soon

so many dark troubled complexities

leveled at the feet of Hollywood

the grace never left him alone

with the perfect comedic timing

of a vaudvillian

yet still such a fine cut in a tux

that scared little Archie Leach

forever whined in his ear

he lived the life of a homesick boy

that for which he was

though none could claim this

he appeared

he shoved him down

as he further sketched Cary Grant

the public devoured the media creation

and forever born

never to really die was

the cinema darling

of manners and maleness

that strangely sweet dialect voice

he graced the world to listen to

and be enchanted by

though few knew Archie Leach

everyone still recalls the affable

handsome and oh so charming Cary Grant

the public persona he created

from the ashes of a street urchin

will never die...............
