JOURNAL #20 the bump on my head
is quite minor
compared to the lump in my heart
some feel that life over all
is much too hard
so they would rather choose
so then to be dead
and regard suicide a a good enough
place to start
well hell no
not I though
because I am just too much of a
chicken shit
where death is concerned
besides
I'm living just to embrace
my beloved Lord Jesus again
and so to toil in hell
and for it
be better burned

I really liked this poem. I suffered from severe depression for many years and attempted to take my own life many times, but now I'm glad I didn't succeed and will never try it again, I will say "NO THANK YOU"!, cos I can now finally say that I LOVE my life now, and part of the reason for that is that I have now found love. Sorry to rant on about myself but I wanted you to know that I can relate to the words of your poem.
