JUSTIN

Justin my so just one, do you feel bold
bold enough to break from your current mold
how is it that you say her name with such care
even when the look on your face is so bland and bare
you're rugged while kind
but who knows exactly what's on your incredible mind
your eyes they hide, most likely the real you
but they refuse to divulge if you are happy or blue
just troubled yet strong
that's what you are
perhaps I don't know possibly it could take you far
love has been your enemy in its attempts to drive
you insane
as I'm sure its betrayal has drilled into your
common strain
must you be so rigid like this
so singularly cynical yet bias
let go my frank friend
be hers
be her true
because she'll only fully be yours if
you let her have all of you
for all the disappointments that were
remain hidden in the past
give all of yourself this last time
and I bet it will last
compromise that's the key word
and eat up just this one last thought
think
was it something that you knew or
something that you were taught.....

Author's Notes/Comments:

written( not so strangely enough if you do the math and figure out my age in this piece)  about a  character in some chintzy harlequin romance novel as I recall!  what can one expect though from an 18 year old girl who had not lived really up to that time I was striving to be  what I wanted to  be a woman , poet, a liver of life, participator in the adult every day and the romance novels helped fill in the gaps until I could get to that place in life I wanted to be.
