I put my ear to your mouth;
hear the voice of driftwood,
feel your breath, soft as breeze 
stirred by wings of dragonflies
pushed seaward by Santa Anas 
where heat of the afternoon
ricochets off the sand, 
sooths the flesh
upon my tired bones;
bones older
than all the humpbacked whales.

Incredible Nature Poem This
