The announcement,

of my friends,

leaving to war,

shocked my soul,

with pain unfelt before,

I sit here crying,

my tears & heart out,

hoping they will,

come back to me,

as my friends,

so I may hold,

my beloved best friends’,

once again.



I’m scared & shivering,

right now in fear,

of not returning home,

they died an honorable death,

protecting their country,

when deep down inside,

I’m so angry,

we went this far,

but I do understand,

why we did this,

& I am grateful.



I don’t know,

how to react,

with the news,

for I am just,

one person out of,

many families hurting,

who are wishing,

their childrens',

& husbands’ don’t go.



For all we know,

is the unknown news,

to strike our hearts,

& I LOVE MY FRIENDS,

FOR DOING THIS BRAVELY.



Brave friends come home,

I await you,

from the ending,

battled ground.
