Back in the day,

Maybe if i weren't so meek

I wouldn't get so hurt,

And maybe if I didn't care

I wouldn't put you first.

Maybe i would be rich,

Maybe I would be 'free'.

Maybe your actions-

Would have no hold on me..

Maybe if I were shallow,

Maybe if I were prouder

I would shut my mouth ,

I wouldn't speak louder,

When something cuts me deeply,

Cause I can't help that I love so really

And there is no rest for the needy

Except for one day

that you might free me.
