It's Not Alright

I'll never know where I could have been

if I had just let go

I'll never see behind your eyes

easy imitations of lies

yet we all seem to know

This isn't okay

It was never okay

you were the final blow.

Nameless people count the time

conform and just bow down

not knowing who they really are

their arms are tightly bound.

The situation casts a pall

on weary, shadowed lives

while fate in all her silver robes

does throw her piercing knives.

I'll never see the way you do

and I don't want to try

the questions all do start with why

but they are never answered

nor are they really ever asked

this isn't right

it's not alright

to forget the past.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Don't ask, I don't know myself what this one's about.
