Reader The Judge

Fact and fiction

Are two different things,

But under the poet's pen...

Lies carry no wings.

Interpretations can be many,

And one's soul will take flight,

There is no wrong,

There is no rite.

One's own emotions become putty

In plain sight,

Is it right?

Each one to find their individual truth

Brings individual darkness,

Light.

Great write! We each have our own schemata that helps us make decisions on our interpretations of things as they need to make sense and relate to what we've known before. We n know no other way. You have brought that to light here. What one writes a poem for is not necessarily what another sees or reads but can be just as profoundly affecting! Love It! hugss

I notice so often with myself, and I'm sure we all do it, that I tend to shy away from those poems that touch something in me that would most likely expand my own poetic skills. For instance some of Hulligan Fish. I really can't say I "enjoy reading some of that gory stuff he writes, but if I can get past my own perception of it, I begin to see his talent, and appreciate him as a writer. It can be really helpful on a deep level for me to do that. Just as much, at times the real mushy "nicey nice" poetry can irk me, but it all tells me about how "I"am perceiving the world that day, and that it's my choice to perceive it that way or not...depending on my inner balance at the time. This experience has been very good for me too, as you were saying in your last poem in one of your comments. It's an amazing tool if we use it that way.

Love ya, Ssmoothie!! And thanks!

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
