My Grandfather´s Motorcycles

My grandfather´s motorcycles and all the stories behind them. I remember his adventures of the crazy stuff he used to do, when he was my age he jumped from a church´s roof to another one, well at least he tried it. In his attempt he felt and broke his collar bone; but that didn´t stop him from his obsession with the motorcycles. He told me that he was expelled from high school because he was running his bike inside the campus, everyone knew him as ¨El loco Vázquez¨( the crazy Vazquez).  When my mother and uncles were born he sold and got rid of every motorcycle and accessories he had, he didn´t wanted his children face the same dangers he lived.  In his house, he have all the trophies he won, and each of them have a story behind it.

He was a really active person and I think that’s why I am like this, I think I got something from him. He is my role model, and I wish some day I can be like him, he taught me many things, he was a huge fan of music and a great musician, so he taught me how to play guitar, every weekend we used to practice in his house and we played serenata to my grandma.

He left me many things , he was a great man, I learned from him everything I am today, He taught me how to be a good man and how to act respectful and always a gentleman when treating a woman. He and his five  best friends made a trip in motorcycles traveling to the coast of Yucatan crossing Mexico, He told me it was a great adventure, he planned the trip with 5 days of anticipation, they grabbed the essential things and travel to Yucatan. It was in the summer break vacations during college. I wish some day I can make a trip like that one.

My grandpa died from a young age, every one says he died because of all the years he was in his bike, all the accidents and injuries that he had, but I think he lived his life to the fullest, I think he didn´t regret of any thing he tried because every attempt has a valuable story behind it and he decided to live a risky but a happy life instead of a boring and quiet one.

Grandfathers motorcycle:

What a good write about your grandfather and his younger motor cycling days. What a dare devil!!!  I think you write very well and your prose is very interestingly told.
