Fool's Gold The protectors,
they shirked their duties for self-pity,
left us in our own confusion,
lost in a merry-go-round of adaptation,
stewing in our own juices,
Some kinda crude rendering of a treasure map,
in poor condition,
that was our guide,
our mattress tag.
Now we ax the same mines as they did then
except there's no spittoon for the 5 o'clock brain-ruster
at the local saloon
