Window of Lies

My Favorite Poems

Frozen,

I seek your arms for warmth,

You stare at me with dark, empty eyes.

I try to call to you,

But my words are chocked by pain,

All of my love that I have given to you,

Could it all have been wasted?

Who is this man sitting next to me,

This man who once loved me,

Why does he act as though he hates me?

A cloud breaks as we stare at each other,

My tears are hidden by the drops of rain,

my cries are drowned out by the thunder.

Covered in mud, I shake with sorrow,

My heart has been torn from my body and I now have no hope left.

The Rain stops falling on me but still falls around,

I look up and see a familiar smile gazing down at me,

I feel his hands lift me up,

I feel his lips grace mine,

I feel his love once again.

My love had not been wasted after all,

I was just standing on the other side of the window.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I originally wrote this poem as a quicky for a contest for this site...
But I think it is too short and gets to the point too fast so I will update it later.
